What this is

Tutorio Lab publishes short tutorials about specific things: converting a PDF, removing the background from a photo, working out VAT or a loan payment. Every tutorial has a video and a written version with screenshots, and some come with a calculator that does the sum for you.

Free, and no sign-up

None of our tools asks for an account, an email address or any personal data. The calculators run entirely inside your browser: what you type never leaves your device. There is no paid version and there will not be one.

How a tutorial is made

First we check that people actually search for the topic. Then the script is written, the screen is recorded doing the steps for real, and it is edited together with the voice. We do not use stock screenshots or steps from memory: what you see in the video is the page working on the day it was recorded.

What every video has to pass

That no step was left half done, that whatever the voice names is really on screen at that moment, and that the voice is neither ahead of nor behind what you see. On top of that, a person watches the whole video before it goes out. A video that fails any of the four is recorded again.

The numbers are checked

The figures in the calculation tutorials are not written from memory: they are built into automated tests alongside the code of each calculator. If a formula ever stopped giving the right answer, the test would fail before anything was published.

Six languages

We publish in Spanish, English, German, French, Dutch and Portuguese, with one YouTube channel per language. The same explanation, adapted to each one: it is not a machine translation of the Spanish.

How we keep going

The project is funded by advertising and, on some pages, by affiliate links that are marked as such. That does not change what we recommend or what the tutorials say. We explain it on the Affiliates page.

Write to us at hola@tutoriolab.com. If a tutorial has gone out of date because the page it explains has changed, we want to know: we fix it and publish it again.
